Customers who have an older, non-EVDO device will not be able to roam in South Korea unless a manual update is performed at a Verizon Wireless Store.
- A manual update/flash will be performed on the device.
- Any reprogramming or *228 after the manual flash will overwrite the change.
After returning from South Korea In order to return the device settings for domestic use, customers must perform an over-the-air update when they return from South Korea:
- Dialing *228 on their mobile device while in the U.S. over the Verizon Wireless network.
- Press 2 to update the device’s roaming capabilities (call is air time free).
- If this procedure is not performed, the roam indicator will not be accurate.

Customers with EV-DO BlackBerry, EV-DO Treo, and EV-DO PDA Smartphone devices may now roam in South Korea by dialing *228 and selecting option 2 to obtain an updated PRL prior to international travel.
Non EV-DO voice handsets need to be manually updated with the South Korea PRL in Verizon Wireless Stores.
Non EV-DO types of BlackBerry, Treo, and PDA Smartphone devices cannot be used in South Korea.
Verify that you have the International dialing feature added to your calling plan by referencing My Verizon or dialing *611 (Customer Service).
